CONSULTANCIES

  For more than 10 years, PHCI has engaged in consultancies. We view this as a mechanism not only to share our expertise in training and evaluation, but also to share lessons learned within and beyond the Southern Highlands Zone. To date PHCI faculty have engaged in consultancies on the following topics:

  • Strengthening health planning and management among health workers
  • Conducting health systems research
  • Conducting needs assessments for health worker training
  • Evaluation of primary health care programs
  • Developing monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Designing health worker trainings
  • Designing and reviewing curricula of the District Health Management Training Modules for the WHO- AFRO region
  • WHO review of Implementation of Primary Health care in WHO-AFRO region.
  • Evaluating specific projects/programmes such as the Primary Health Care project in Muleba District Council, the Community Based Health Care Project in the Songea District Council, Health and nutrition project and the Badilika Tuberculosis project
  • Advising various stakeholders on appropriate and cost effective options for interventions in health care delivery
  • Developing strategic business plans for health training institutions such as the Morogoro Public Health Nursing School
  • Evaluating the implementation of health programmes such as the Comprehensive Council Health Plan for Kahama District 2001-2008
