Ordinary Diploma in Health Promotion (NTA Level 6)

  The Ordinary Diploma in Health Promotion has a total of 40 weeks of study in the academic year which are divided in two semesters. The core modules will cover 34 weeks and 4 weeks are designated for community attachment and 2 weeks breather

Ordinary Diploma in District Health Systems Management(NTA Level 6)

  The Ordinary Diploma in District Health Systems Management comprises of a Foundation module and 8 core modules. Each module takes 2 weeks for face to face with facilitators. The modules follow an accumulative credit system and amount to 1200 hours of study. In addition to classroom teaching each module has assignments attached to it that are to be completed at workplace.

Admission/entry requirements

Ordinary Diploma in Health Promotion (NTA Level 6)

  A minimum requirement for admission to Ordinary Diploma in Health Promotion (NTA Level 6) is as follows;

  • Candidates who have Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) at Ordinary Level with pass of at least Division III and
  • Certificate or Diploma in health or any health related including social studies such as Agriculture, Education, Social Welfare and Community Development

Ordinary Diploma in District Health Management (NTA Level 6)

  The course is open to health workers within the public, private, faith based and Non-Governmental Organization with;

  • Certificate or Diploma recognized by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare
  • Minimum of one year working experience, preferably at District level

Registration procedures

  Besides the entry qualifications, the prospective student is required to;

  • Submit a completed application form accompanied with 20,000/- non-refundable application fees for the course the applicant would like to pursue.
  • Submit a Medical Examination form duly filled by a qualified Medical Doctor showing the fitness of the candidate to pursue PHCI-I programmes.
  • Submit the proof on the availability of funds for the completion of the programme
  • Letter of reference regarding academic performance

Course fee

Ordinary Diploma in Health Promotion NTA level 6)

  • 3500 US$ per academic year in campus
  • 2500 US$ per academic year off campus

Ordinary Diploma in District Health Management

  • Tshs 650,000.00 per module
  • Tshs 1,950,000.00 per one academic year (i.e. 4 modules)
  • Tshs 5,850,000.00 per full course i.e. for 2 and half academic years (30 months)

Policy on payment of fees

  A prospective student must complete the fee payment agreement and file it with the administrator

  • A student is not allowed into any lecture or tutorial session and cannot enjoy institutes facility without being appropriately registered with the institute
  • Any student attempting to access classes or access any other institute facility without payment of fees is subject to expulsion

  The following amount can be paid to student or alternatively can be paid to our account which can later be paid to the student by the institute accountant

  NB: Direct costs to students are a minimum recommended cost directly paid to the students. However, it doesn’t include monthly stipend, traveling costs and medical services expenses.

  • Stipend and traveling costs are paid by the sponsor (Councils or donors) to the trainee
  • Tuition fees are paid to the institution
  • Each applicant will have to pay 20,000.00 application fees paid to the institution (non refundable)
  • Each trainee will be required to pay Tshs 20,000.00 as caution money (non-refundable)

  All direct payment to the institute is either paid directly to the Primary Health Care Institute (PHCI) accountant or the PHCI-I Bank account A/c No. 01J1070698400
