Mission Statement

  The mission of PHCI is to provide opportunities for health professionals and to conduct quality training, research and consultancies in the areas of Health Systems management and other areas that PHCI deems fit.

Vision Statement

  PHCI strives to be a leading Institution for knowledge acquisition and adaptation through training, research, consultancy and health management in the context of the Primary Health Care Strategy.

Objectives

• Improve management of health resources, particularly health personnel
• Improve district decision-making capabilities in planning, implementing and evaluating health services
• Promote teamwork in carrying out sectoral and intersectoral activities to identify and solve health challenges together
• Act as a “field laboratory” for implementation of Tanzania’s Primary Health Care strategy
• Improve community involvement in planning and implementing health activities
• Strengthen research capacity and capabilities of PHCI-Iringa staff, health care providers and other trainers through training and conducting Health Systems Research.
