Zonal Information

  The Primary Health Care Institute works with the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare, the two regions in the zone, ZHTIs.

  The work with the MOH&SW include; supervision of health training institutions that are available in the zone, updating health workforce with knowledge and skills in new development in health.

  The new development in health on which health workers have been updated include; Integrated Logistic System, Community Based Rehabilitation of Health Facilities, Strengthening of Health Management, Integrated Management Cascade, Use of a planning and reporting software in Comprehensive Council Health Plan, Introduction of new malaria drug policy, nursing care of malaria patients, Integrated Management of Childhood Illness and Family Planning.

Council Health Management Teams within SHZ

  Support in the development of CCHP, support in conducting facilitative supervision to health workers, training and follow up of the trained health workers and support in using Planrep2 software for preparing CCHP.

Shinyanga, Kagera and Arusha regions

  Support in strengthening of Health Management in the districts of Shinyanga, Kagera and Arusha (Mbulu district) regions

Ulanga District Council

  Support of Primary Health Care project in Ulanga district Morogoro region. The project is under SolidarMed at Ifakara Institute of International Health

Lindi, Mtwara and Mbeya regions

  Support in capacity building in reproductive and child health

Iringa and Kilolo District Councils

  Primary Health Care and Community Based Health Care project in Ilambilole, Lulanzi, Nduli and Kising’a villages. These villages are used by the institute students to put in practice health promotion approaches in a way that both the community, PHCI-I and students benefits from the field work.
